Masterpiece presentation

Happy with how the presentation went even though it wasn't exactly what I was
even expecting! We barely scratched the surface of what was to be discussed in class but I'm happy to continue the conversation whenever possible & also, congrats to everyone else as well. Can't wait to see more!

Take charge of your life

Soo I got a job at subway a few months ago & it was meant to be part time. I'm not the type of person who wants to work for someone else, I just needed extra money for gas & food. Well after awhile it became full time while still going to school 5 days a week. I literally had no time at all to do anything I WANTED. I felt like a slave from the time I woke up to the time I went to sleep & sooo...

Learning is a choice

Learning is like happiness, it's a choice. Personally, I can learn from just about anything. That's what life is about, learning, growing, & changing to become the best version of yourself you can be. I think the fact that we call learning is getting an "education" trains people to think in order to learn something it must be from a peir or out of a text book which is 1837372% WRONG. For me, that's the least bit of learning that goes on through out my day. Except for Dr. Preston's class. There's a process of unlearning that must go on so that we change our perspective on the approach of this class. But the only way to unlearn is to LEARN. Learn to unlearn. Be open to new & different information because in this fast changing world we must learn new ideas, designs ect. So let's start learning to unlearn some of the things we've been taught all our life, something simple like structure.. What I do is question things because it leads to realization & you just want to say what the ****. Soo take something like structure, think about it, is structure really necessary to LIFE? Why should OUR (mine & yours) life be structured in any way. I look at structure, question it, then realize it's OWNERSHIP. Structure owns your life. You're told "get up early & go to school", "study & get good grades so you can get a good job" (then were presented all the careers & jobs "available"). Oh, then when you get home do some "homework". Then, when you're home your life is structured by your parents. Even though they mean good, it's still structure. A job is structure, you're told when to show up, what to do, when to eat, & when to go home. LETS TAKE CONTROL of OUR LIFE. Go look at the sky & learn that hey on Tuesday at 8:30 am the sky is clear. It's that easy!

13 hours..

Yesterday I left my house at 7 in the morning to drive to 29 palms & was home at 11. I went by myself through all the busy free ways, stopped in west Hollywood & a few other places.. It felt good to get away from what I'm use to & see every day. I learned a lot on this trip & one thing that it's really taught me is that you really don't know anything besides your perception on life. I'm use to a quiet town & when I was in downtown Hollywood I just realized that these are people's daily lives. Someone wakes up every day there, goes to school every day there, comes home every day there & it dawned on me that there really is no way to understand someone else's life because you're really only living yours. You think everyone can relate to eachother? That's not always true. I basically was out of my car for about 2 hours or so out of the whole day & that was in 29 palms. I tripped out on how many tattoo shops & haircut places were there. Also, how everyone there is in the military. Literally like everyone. & it's not really their choice.. They go where they're stationed & bring their whole family with them so they have to start all over again. It must be hard. I'm still trying to figure what else I've learned from taking an adventure like that on my own but I know it's taught me a valuable lesson & those are what I live for.

Collaborations!

Anyone?

So if anyone has read my launch you know that I need someone good with technology & that knows how to build a platform for a social network/website, coding, ect. This is a quick request for anyone willing to collaborate on my idea to turn it into reality!

Welcome to my blog..

I know all my class colleagues are looking at my blog tonight. I want to ask for some feedback strictly on my idea (the launch). Not necessarily my blog & posts, just my idea. Thank you very much, let's collaborate!

How do I do this?

I know it's so simple yet I don't know where to go to change the layout of my boring blog? Any comments are much appreciated.

Letssss do this..

Gabi Perezerviev: I love her passion in what she's doing & how it's all about spreading positivity in any way possible. Most definitely one to collaborate with on my journey!
Shane Cheverez: His passion is figuring out what causes & creates someone's passion? I feel like ANYONE, no matter their topic, can benefit from working with him. This is the key to why everyone is doing what they're doing. Looking forward to both of us benefiting from our collaborations.
Mackenzie DeLauer: I really like how she's bringing out a subject not talked about enough in this world. It's something that affects a lot of families & that needs to stop & it all starts with desire which I can tell Mackenzie has!

Imagination

While still planning on how to go about this idea & what I need to have in mind while creating it, I always remember to have an imagination. I feel like growing up out of the stage of "being little kids" people completely lose their imagination. Our society is constantly telling us what to do whether you realize it or not. In school it's  "so you have these choices, A. B. C. or D" . "Get good grades, go to college, write a resume, go get a job". Then you get that job & you're told when to show up, when to eat lunch, & when to go home. At this point, we're losing control of the fact that this is YOUR life. You do what YOU want. That's all that matters. So go back to being a little kid, have dreams. & I mean DREAMS. HUGE DREAMS. Don't just have them, think deep down how bad you would love to LIVE those dreams!

Everyone has dreams, but not everyone dreams in the same way.
There are 5 kind of dreamers: (taken from Robert Kiyosaki's book Business of the 21st Century)
1) Those who dream in the past
2) Those who dream only small dreams
3) Those who achieve a dream, & then live bored.
4) Those who dream big dreams, but with no plan on how to go about acheiving them, so end up with nothing.
5) Those who dream big, achieve those dreams, and go on to dream even bigger dreams!
-Those who dream in the past: These are the people who believe that their greatest achievements are behind them. They end up talking about stories of being in college, the army, their highschool football days ect. If you try to talk to them about the future they respond with they have nothing to say except for maybe something like "the world has gone to hell anyways" blah blah blah.
- Those who only dream small dreams: these dreamers limit themselves to small dreams because of lacking confidence in achieving them. They think that only certain things are possible in their lifetime. You might here someone who has smaller dreams for their lives saying something like "oh yeah, I should of done that years ago, but I just never got around to actually doing it".
- Those who achieve a dream, & then live bored: Most people dream of becoming something. (Let's say a Doctor for ex.) they become a doctor... Uhh.. Now what? Oh yeah, they also have a few dreams of traveling to Italy, Mexico, & Hawaii for vacation.. 6 years into their career they've gone to those places. Now what? Uhh..
NEVER STOP DREAMING!
- Those who dream big dreams, but with no plan on how to go about achieving them, so they end up with nothing:
"I've just had a major break through". "this time things will be different".
"I think I turned a corner for the better".
These people thought about achieving their dreams on their own, very few people do achieve their dream by themselves. These people should keep dreaming big, make a plan, & find a team who will stick together to the dream is achieved. (Then dream bigger)
- Those who dream big, achieve those dreams, & go on the dream even bigger dreams!: Big people have big dreams & small people have small dreams. If you want to change who you are, change the size of your dream.
So which dreamer are you? Remember, ANYTHING is possible & it all starts with your mind.

Relationships

As I talk to more people & get their feedback I'm really starting to understand how important building a relationship can be. A solid relationship is perfect collaboration at it's finest. I will only call it a relationship if there's a form of trust built, otherwise it's only an acquaintance. You'd be amazed on how much a person can impact your life or benefit you in some way. Don't be afraid to approach & talk to new people. Chances are if you're a trustworthy, loyal, honest person then that will be the type of people you will attract into your life. Build solid relationships with those people. Find people who see what you see that can inspire you to do better & simply work with them. It's not always about what you know, it's who you know! #learning

Opinions

Just shared my idea with my aunt. She thought I was crazy & kept talking about "back up plans" & "plan B's"

Eric's thoughts

I think the title is referring to the choice of forcing the medicine down her throat or her just doing it herself.. Maybe even having the choice to not do it at all?
In a way it's a choice but in the end it's almost mandatory to be treating her with it because I feel as if there was no other alternative.
Poison meaning it is harmful to the body because it's killing all the cells in general not just cancer cells. & he may have called it that because when you think of poison you think of illness or death.. & going through this with his daughter may
be the closest thing you get to feeling a sense of death without actually physically dying.
I think he should let her do whatever she wishes, at this point in her life.
Have an affect or impact as many other people's lives as I possibly can.
Conditions just like ones in this story are more than a good reason to force discomfort on someone for the better.
It's the simple terms of "put yourself in somebody else's shoes" that makes us emotional over someone else's struggles. While reading this, I imagined I had a daughter that I loved & cared for & I had
to watch her fight off something that has the potential of killing her.. Then thinking if she survived what would be the outcome. Putting myself in his position probably didn't give me hear the real feeling of being Eric; but made me understand why I should be so grateful for life I live.
